This Privacy Policy explains how EdgeWalker ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and shares information when you use the EdgeWalker website and application (the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to this Policy.

1. Information we collect

Category	What & why
Account	Your email address, used to sign you in (via a one-time "magic link") and to contact you about your account.
Conversations	The messages you send to your persona and its replies, so we can provide the chat and voice experience.
Memory (optional)	If you enable memory, we store durable facts you share (e.g. your name, interests, goals) to personalize future chats. You can view, delete, or turn this off anytime in Settings. We do not auto-store medical information.
Voice	If you use voice input, audio is processed to convert speech to text so your persona can respond. We do not use your voice to build a voiceprint.
Payment	If you subscribe, our payment processor (Stripe) collects and processes your payment details. We receive limited billing status (e.g. active, trialing) but not your full card number.
Technical	Basic technical data such as a session cookie for login, and standard server logs (e.g. request times, errors) to keep the Service running and secure.

2. How we use information

To provide, personalize, and improve the Service.
To generate your persona's responses (which requires sending your messages to our AI provider — see below).
To manage your account, subscription, and billing.
To communicate with you (sign-in links, service and account notices).
To maintain security, prevent abuse, and comply with law.

3. How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers that help us run EdgeWalker, and only as needed:

AI model provider (currently DeepSeek, or a provider you choose via your own API key) — receives your conversation messages to generate replies.
Stripe — payment processing.
Resend — sending sign-in and account emails.
Hosting/infrastructure — our cloud hosting provider stores the data needed to run the Service.

We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights, safety, and security of our users or the Service. If you bring your own AI key, your messages go to that provider under their terms.

4. Your choices & rights

Memory: view, delete individual items, "forget everything," or turn memory off in Settings.
Access & deletion: you can request access to or deletion of your account data by emailing us. Deleting your account removes your personal data, subject to limited records we must keep (e.g. for tax/billing).
Marketing: we don't run marketing email programs by default; any such emails would include an unsubscribe option.
Depending on where you live (e.g. the EEA/UK or California), you may have additional rights such as access, correction, deletion, and portability. Contact us to exercise them.

5. Data retention

We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service, then delete or anonymize it, except where we must retain it to comply with legal, tax, or accounting obligations.

6. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information (including encryption in transit and encryption of sensitive stored values such as any API key you provide). No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Children

The Service is not directed to children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a minor has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

A note on AI conversations: please avoid sharing highly sensitive information (such as government IDs, passwords, or detailed medical or financial records) in chat. Conversations are processed by third-party AI models to generate responses.

8. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. We will update the date above and, for material changes, provide additional notice where appropriate.
